Killarney National Park:

Reintroduction

Reintroduced White Tailed Eagle.JPG
  • In 2007 Killarney National Park provided the first release site for the highly successful White Tailed Eagle reintroduction

  • We now have White Tailed Eagles breeding in the wild in Donegal, Fermanagh, Tipperary, Clare, Cork and on the lakes in Killarney National Park

  • The Osprey Reintroduction project is managed and led by National Parks and Wildlife Service.  KNP staff play a major role in the iconic project.

  • The Woodpecker has reintroduced itself successfully and has now successfully bred in KNP this year

  • The Cuckoo project in KNP is ongoing
